It was a harsh place, one in which he had to make harsh decisions, not for himself, but for the Target,
the Rogues of the Sector, and the anecdotes he used, they were to show he was open to offers himself.
He had to find the 5 W's, they were the what,
when,
where,
why,
and, of course, the who.
Now, there was an added distraction, and possibly, a 6th W, one he had been considering for a while,
all he had to do was find a way of using it without joining the Rogues on a one way trip to the Wastelands.

The Anecdotes series are a collection of short stories (anecdotes) told by a particular character who relates their own past experiences of the job to work colleagues.
Sometimes there is an element of truth, quite often, there are blatent lies, and there is always some form of subterfuge going on, the anecdotes are a means to an end.

The Annecdotes of a Zero (and an escape from a harsh reality) is the story of one man coming to terms with his life, his vocation,
his whole reason for being. This life is all he has ever known, what he has become is all he has ever been, all he will ever be, or is it?
He questions why he does what he does, is there a point to it any more, is there another option or is he destined to remain as he is?
Is it possible he can escape from this harsh reality he realises he is now part of?
Is he perhaps not what he thought he was, is there more?
This was a story line first pitched to me by my son, Phil, we share an fascination for the obscure and the unreal and can easily find ourselves immersed in it,
we seem to find a (warped?) pleasure in the dark worlds that much of science fiction suggests we are heading for.
Anyway, long story short, I went a little off track from his way of thinking the story was going to go, and so it became Anecdotes of a Zero,
his story will be closer to the second book, Anecdotes of an X-Ray.
The images on the book cover are Phil's artwork, as it has been on previously issued books (and those to come),
a combination of my visions and his skills with a digital paintbrush (and a real one too!)
